I used my daughter's 357 mag this morning to shoot a 150 pound buck with a completely broken rack. She might not get her rifle back.

Can't argue with the success of the Maxi and it was the best shooting Handi I ever had!
Why I sold mine I'll never know, and the only reason I can think of is it's all part of the symptoms.

Can add one for the 500 S&W. Shot a spike with my handi in 500. I was very impressed with the performance of the 350gr xtp-mag I had loaded for it. The shot was a little further back than what I would have liked but it still left a blood trail anyone could follow.

BTW this was my first deer with a handi rifle. I am going to try next week to get a deer with my 44 mag handi.

My best friend of 33 years used my Handi 357 magnum to harvest a nice eight pointer on my farm today. We sat in the stand this morning, saw two young bucks, but the wind was blowing hard so we decided to go back to the house and get the chainsaws to cut some firewood. When we stepped out at the big downed oak tree we were going to start cutting firewood, here came a train of deer, doe in the lead and four bucks with their tongues hanging out. I told my friend to grab the Handi, and we took a short walk while watching the bucks chase the doe. Suddenly, A nice eight pointer ran by, and my friend quickly put one in the shoulder at about 50 yards. Buck ran about 20 yards and crashed into a huisache tree,DRT. Load used was a remington 125 jsp., bullet went through left shoulder and stopped just under the skin behind the right shoulder. Will post pics when wife gets home from work. Jeff in San Antonio,Tx.

Had I known that the old clasic was sucking wind so bad, I'd have used it on the other doe and 2 hogs this weekend. I'll work on getting those numbers up between now and Feb 1

My H&R with Tracker II 20ga topped with a Leupold 2-7x33, shooting Hornady SST sabots......this my 3rd deer in 2 seasons with this setup..

No worries. It was just her rifle. I did the shootin. She said she aint quite ready to pull the trigger yet but she likes comin out with me. She's seen two taken already so hopin before the end of season she will decide to. We'll keep tryin. Thanks

Nov 23, 2011 my 5 year old killed his first deer, 125lb doe with a 45LC Buffalo Classic Carbine at 50 yrds shooting 300 gr LBT over H4227. She dropped in her tracks with a quartering away high double lung shot. Made me the proudest papa at the deer camp!

Wow congrats to the youngest deer hunter I have read about in this thread. May have to create a BC youth model if he is going to keep taking your gun dad

What a great way to lose a gun and gain a hunting buddy! I would call that a good trade.
