Add one for the 20 gauge Handi Pardner, pieced together from the classifieds!
My neighbor borrowed my shotgun for this season, and is using Remington Sluggers and he got a nice 8 pt. buck this morning at 50 yards.
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

No pictures, but oldest son took two deer last week with the first two shots from his new .308 Handi, the first deer, I witnessed the shot. and it was a one shot bang flop at 120 yards( Rangefinder) with his own handloads of Hornady 150 gr. Shot was made from a sitting position with no rest.

Saw movement to my left was a buck checking a scrape. Threw up the gun and shothim. Went 30yds and piled up. He was a 3+yr old 6pt.

Chalk another one up for the smoothbore 20 gauge.  Just have to know how to lob them in, this was a clean pass through with one of the old Brenneke Rottweil slugs at a bit over 125 yds.

Lonny I got the venison back from the processor today. He said he threw my deer up on his scales which go to 210 lbs and it topped his scales out.

Well it wasn't as spectacular a shot as you would think.  I got the deer at my parent's place where I grew up at.  During my early years, I shot a ton across the 100 yds shooting range set up in the pasture where the deer was shot at.  When pulling into their driveway to hunt yesterday, I noticed a head sticking out of the pasture field which is now overgrown.  I threw on my orange coat and loaded the gun and used the back of my truck as a rest.  While practicing with the shotgun, I knew it hit 6 inches low at 100 yds, so I held a bit higher than that.  Not much different than target practice, but the tenderloins sure tasted good.

UPDATE Devil rifle is a 44mag SB1 handi, developed oversize cast bullets for it and my friend's wife took a 135 spike with my rifle!! She thought it was  doe! She was hunting in a thicket. The shot was at 15 yards high thru both shoulders. the spike was  dispatched with a head shot by her son with a 45-70 as it was mortally wounded but had not expired when they found it in the flooded thicket.

Mark one down for the 45-70!
8 points 24" outside spread.

This was with my new to me Handi I recently built from scratch.   Purchased the barrel, then the receiver, and then traded a synthetic stock set for a clean pallet wood set.  Good way to break it in!

Went out this morning and it's been the third morning in a row of freezing temperatures, but with the rut in full swing it really had the deer moving here in South Texas for the last few days.
My nephew took a really nice 8 pt. day before yesterday, and then this morning this wide 8 pt. stopped long enough from chasing a doe at 75 paces to get introduced to a 400 grain Speer JSP, over my load of IMR4198.    He only went about 50 yards as I watched him pile up.
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

Thanks guys, I had spotted him on the opening day back on Nov. 5 but he was far back in the brush and I only caught a glimpse of him feeding on acorns, and through the brush I could make out a crabclaw antler and his beam width is also all that I noticed, but really didn't get a good look at him, but I knew he was a good deer from just the little I saw of him.

I nicknamed him the crabclaw buck, and didn't see him again until this morning, but he was worth the wait!

Chalk one up for a .308.  Got one last Saturday...nice 6 point.  Frontal chest shot at 80 yrds. Dropped over dead.  Gotta love that.  Guess I don't need an uber-magnum to get the job done?!
If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.

No pics, but I took a young buck with my. 223 Superlight at 105 yards with a through and through from frontal quartering shot with 65 grain Game King. Also a smaller doe at 40 yards. Both we're bang flops. Up to 9 deer possible in Oklahoma. Holiday season coming up.
