I'm a frustrated farmer

Or at least that's what my dear Sainted mother used to say.     Years ago I had a little place, big enough to keep my horses and other sundry farm animals and as big a garden as I wanted.  Actually, that turned out to be one 30 feet wide by 300 feet long.
 
I tried growing just about everything at least once and many things year after year.  Let me tell you folks, a weed wasn't long for this world in my garden!   
 
This of course led to a subscription to "Mother Earth News" and opened up the new world of food preservation to me!
 
I do miss it sometimes.     But next year I will try an herb garden.  I think I can do that without incurring the ire of the Home Owner's Association!

atllaw, move to the country in missouri! no one cares what yu grow at all.if they think yur growing too much produce they mite ask yu for sum and then bring yu sum deer steaks later.ur obviously livin in the wrong place.oh and we could use sum good honest lawyers here to if there is such a thing.i think yud like it.

Now you boys leave Richard alone.  He is, to the best of my knowledge, one of only two lawyers with common sense left in our fair state.  The rest have gone to work for that fella' on tv that always gets you money when you have a wreck, or they've gone into public office.

Hey man I have a similair problem b/c i rent a house and can't go tearing up the lawn to grow a garden. I have had some pretty good success with potted plants. I have grown tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers in pots. Might try your hand at that.

I can't imagine somebody in the name of a "homeowners association" tellin me I can't have a garden not havin to drink his meals through a straw for a few weeks afterward.      If they didn't like that all my shootin from the back porch 3 or 4 days a week would almost certainly tee them off just a smidgen.  I think it's time for Atlaw to do somethin about some of these frustrations.

Time to move lawman, How can you live in a place where you can't have a garden, a man has to get his hands in the dirt to stay sane.

I was finally able to get me a 10 acre place a few years ago, and while we don't live there, I commute the 40 miles and camp over there. Got a few of my gardens rigged up to water automatically. No electricity, that adds to the fun.

 Nice thing about a bad economy, you can buy things now that you couldn't touch a few years ago. A guy doesn't want to have much money laying around depreciating these days. I don't have to worry about that now, since I bought the place we don't have much money laying around any more.

nearly two years ago the wife and I bought a 12 acre spot, and were able to move right in, after building our home.  While we still have neighbors, and technically live in a neighborhood, Having 12 acres to myself and since properties are typically more than 400 feet wide, I am finding alot more elbow room
