missed shot,

This it the other side of the scale.

I also use IMR 4350 powder.  Nosler Partition 200 grain bullet with Federal 215 magnum primer.  This was used as a  moose load.

The 300 Wthby can be loaded using bullets from 115 gr to 220.

From the 5th edition of the Hornady handbook, 165gr A-MAX 81.2gr RELOADER 19 it claims 3200fps - I averaged 3005 don't recall the SD but it was the smallest group I could get ( still seemed poor ), burned clean.  As I recall I could reach the lands with this bullet, but that OAL wouldn't come close to fitting in the magazine, ended up using OAL that would feed from magazine. Use 3 shot groups & let the bbl. cool. BTW I started out using Remington brass & switched to Weatherby, the Remington brass was too soft & giving pressure signs early.

Moose load for my 26" barrelled Wby MK 5 is 180 gr Nosler Partition, 84.5 grs of IMR 7828 lit up by Fed 215 primers. The MV has been consistant at just over 3200 fps.
The usual warning, this load is safe in my rifle but may not be in yours.
