Unless you know them personally, say nothing, or at most say only that you disagree with the methods used.

Sniping any animal from a blind off of a bait pile or bait station does not fit my defination of hunting.  I did not see what I'd call a good shot either, most seemed to be shot in a way that allowed too much suffering.  For squirrels, I aim for either the head, or to just clip the shoulder bones.  This last shot takes out both lungs (even with a pellet rifle) and usually stops the heart instantly.  At no time do I just aim at the squirrel, a bad hit is still a bad hit even if it is "just a squirrel".

If a friend of mine showed such a video of themselves, on the other hand, I'd be all over them about ethics, poor sportsmanship, and poor shooting.

There's nothing about hunting in that video, or about fair chase or about respecting the quarry that you are hunting....that video was all some fool's desire to  go out, kill animals and video tape it.

Scum that make these videos and post this crap is what gives an ethical hunter a bad name. I would be ashamed to say that I knew that person...That idiot is very fortunate that I do not.  :-X

I'd say death throes are part of hunting too, but for posting videos I agree it's unnecessary.  Nothing different here than hunting in an area with an oak tree or beechnut etc.  Why do you hunt there, because food draws them to the area for food.  I have personally taken squirrels (rarely) at 100 yards with a good rest.  Head shots aren't the ticket at that range with a .22, so the boiler room is where you put it.  The only problem I see with posting something like this publicly is it gives animal advocate groups another thing to show and say, "see how horrible hunters are to make it suffer."  The reality is that they suffer much longer by other means of death, ie. constriction, a cat trying to kill them or dogs, etc.  Hopefully, some well meaning person will explain this to the person posting that (if they aren't PETA doing it on purpose) it can cause problems and to keep the videos private.

I have no problem hunting animals for eating or eliminating problematic pests, but that video was made by someone very ignorant.

And the rest of his vids...

I'm just having a lot of trouble being impressed.

In that vid above, he says that he only hunts 10 acres, so he has trouble recovering a lot of deer he shoots!

lets  just say  he  NEEDS  a mentor

there  are lessons to be learned from the squirel shot
he  made scope adjustments while persueing  live game
he has  no clue  about shot placement

but  he is out there trying  and promoting our sport
he  wants his  kids to hunt  too
i think  he is well  intended
like  i said  he needs a mentor
maybe some of us should e-mail  him privately about  his errors

a  22  to a squeril  would be  like a 4 bore  to a deer
and  he wasn't  to effective on the squirells
ITS GOT A LOT TO DO WITH SHOT PLACEMENT

when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO STOP A DEMOCRAT
OBAMACARE....the biggest tax hike in the  history of mankind

I agree with the above statment. As far as the deer video is concerned, he made a good shot with a good blood trail and recovered his deer. I fail to see the problem. Not all hunting situations look like the ones you see on TV. He's not doing anything illegal and he is "hunting" after all. Hunting is not always a beautiful thing when it comes to the kill. You cant sit here and say that every shot that you have ever taken on any kind of game has always been perfect. I agree that his mistake is posting it.

That is not something I would post for all to see. Nothing to be proud of concerning his shooting skills. Or lack there of. I would wonder about anyone who says he has never made a bad shot at some time. But we don't advertise it.

This guy bothers me more, showing off 64 ducks he shot on Facebook and then getting busted for it. Taking that many shots at flocks of ducks, I have to wonder how many he wounded and or lost too.
Lots of ethics come into play when hunting.

This is pretty much what happens when we shoot something, there is a lot of flopping around when you make a head shot, shots to the chest are less dramatic but take some time, and who hasn't made a bad shot occasionally. The difference here is that the guy got some real close up photography of it. Not something I would want to do, but it is reality.

I don't see any difference that someone hunting over a feeder and making a bad shot on a deer, sooner or later everyone that has hunted any length of time has made some bad shots,if they say different then they are lying

Bad shots on paper are tolerable, bad shots on live game are inexcusable.  If you can't kill it quickly with the first shot you don't need to shoot.

One of the worse so called hunters I ever seen and worse yet he feels he is mentoring his 8 year old daughter.  All I can say is very sad.
