It is a Sig in a 1911--it is a Sig.

I just picked one up that is in like new shape with hogue grips, mag well extender, and 3 Wilson combat mags.
Will let you know how it shoots as soon as I get to the range.  It is a lot tighter than my old army type 1911

I read that the slide is a little thicker than standard, and that they will not fit in a standard 1911 holster. is that the case?

I like mine..don't know about fitting in standard 1911 holster, I usually buy a holster for each of my pistols made for that Model..

I don't know but I think the Sigs MAY be alittle larger than a, say, Colt or Springer, body wise. It feels so to me.
Now, that may mean that the Holster may require a little wet fitting to match up real well.

I have a Sig XO , Accurate and reliable, about 2000 rounds without a jam, 1700 of those my handloads
For those that prefer the more traditional slide ,Sig just came out with a Sig Traditional that has the rounded slide not the squared Sig slide.

I've had a SIG 1911 Target for a few months and just love it. SIG 1911 slides ARE a bit wider than conventinal 1991 slides, but I bought a kydex holseter from SIG and have no problems.

The workmanship is flawless, but the slide does include the Colt Series 80 passive firing pin mechanism, which I had my gunsmith remove, to eliminate a little creep and grittiness, after firing at least 200 rounds, since making any modifications will void SIG's warranty. I am taking this one to my grave.

I am suprised that he would remove the FP block--the Smith I use will not---but his magic sure does remove the rememberance that it is there.

I shot one the other day. My buddy picked it up on a trade. Seemed like a hell of a gun imo.
