Veterans Day

Do you do anything with your local communities to help them with their ceremonies (if any)?

Whatever you do, thanks for your service.

Not much being done in my Florida "melting pot" community to commemorate Veteran service.  There is an undercurrent of Pride and a one-on-one Grass Roots display of Gratitude toward our active Service Men and Women.  The County Government Center takes the day off.  My Private Sector Day Job keeps me busy, even though my County, State, and Federal Government clients are all at home on a PAID day off...most of whom never served a day in their lives, even performing the government jobs that pay their mortgages.  Go figure.

Jacksonville, Florida, being a Navy town has an annual Veterans Day parade thru downtown. This year I took a vacation day and marched with the local Vietnam Veterans of America chapter.
