Looking for some land to lease (owensboro)
« on: November 06, 2011, 04:23:19 PM »
Hey guys, I moved to Owensboro a couple years ago and would like to lease some land for just my 13 year old son  (and maybe my 6 year old daughter) and I to hunt. We are very responsible people and are willing to help out around a farm or pay a yearly lease fee. If anyone hears of any openings for next year please keep me posted. Thanks!

Sadly, there are two large hunting clubs within 30 miles of me.  They both buy up all available properties that may be adjoined to their existing properties.  Add to that the state wildlife dept also buying up large tracts and expanding the wildlife refuge areas (which are usually closed most of the hunting season, except for a fraction of the ground).  Between these two forces are the small land owners (like myself) who are forced to "Post" our properties because of a few greedy idiots who do not respect private property.

Brian,
I will ask around, and try to get you some contacts.  Good luck with your search

Thanks Keith, I have found a few friends that have been able to lease small farms around here but most are now posted and idiots have ruined any chances of getting in the door to even discuss a lease option.
