Hi - I wasnt raised with guns (hand or long), but fell in love with them in college. Here I am 20years later and still loving my little collection. I love shooting - i even love cleaning them. I especially have a love for medium to large frame revolvers. I was lucky the first gun i bought was a Ruger "CHP" Security Six (6"ss .38spl) - the dealer was obviously an enthusiast rather than just a salesman, because I now know that he could have taken me to the cleaners since I had no knowledge about anything other than 'it feels good in my hand'.
In the last 2 decades I have tried many calibers and many types of guns and have come to the conclustion that I am a Wheel Girl! I worked in a range at one time and was an NRA certified instructor (basic pistol, personal protection in the home, home firearm safety, and was a range safety officer) and just about every one of my co-workers gave me grief about loving a revolver over an auto-feeder. My answer - the gun that one is most comfortable with and practices enough with - That is the "Right Gun".
I am a native Albuquerquean and I appreciate the fact that my state is more 'open' about gun ownership. The way the laws are in the country really scare me sometimes - i almost feel like i 'should be' panicking and grabbing every decent gun i can while i have the chance!
Anyway - i have lurked on this site long enough.
Love to you all!
Tanya
