Won't be of much help to you - but all I can offer.

I bought my NF Buntline new in April 1974 - G8972x
They are great revolvers.   I sent the grip frame to David Wayland - he made both custom Mexican Ebony and Brazilian Rosewood grips for it, then to a company in TX for custom stags.   Also had a Triple K western rig to carry it.   Used it for tree squirrel, ground squirrel, jacks and cottontail mostly, but also shot some predators with the MAG cylinder before I sold it.

FWIW

Mine was more than good to go for tree squirrels with the 22LR out of tall Ponderosa pines, the rest was even easier.   But I didn't use the MAG cylinder much so never wanted another covertable rimfire SA.   Kind of funny in that my current Old Model Ruger Single-Six 5 1/2" is a 22MAG with only a drift rear sight, and the OM Super Bearcat I've had since before the Colt does the 22LR duty just fine despite no rear sights and 4" of barrel.   Have had it so long it just points where I look.   ;)
