handi pistol?
« on: November 10, 2011, 02:00:04 AM »
saw a picture of the rossi wizard which is just their single shot series like the handi. They re making it I handgun format similar to the encore and contender. Is h&r plan to follow suit or is it just a pipe dream?

I really doubt it. I think the same group that own's H&R also owns TC and they would pretty much cut thier own throat. Both have one thing going for them that Rossi ain't and that is AMERICAN made. Kurt

My mistake TC is not owned by the Freedom Group. Still no way for the H&R  and its massive frame compared to a TC is very handy. I got 2 H&R Muzzle Loading pistols and compared to and Encore or a Contender there is no comparison in trying to shoot them.

It would be the same rules as a AR. If you can get a frame that had never been built into a rifle you could build it into a pistol, but from what I gather there havent been any H&R/NEF frames that have never been assembled into a rifle.

I believe the only H&R frame you could use would be from one of the old Huntsman Muzzle Loaders. There should be a post here some where that Larry posted on the pistol he built. Kurt

We are talking legally, right? Their answers are correct.

"You are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts." - Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan

When you allow a lie to go unchallenged, it becomes the truth.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

You could technically register a Handi frame as an SBR and use it with a short barrel and no stock. Though, it couldn't technically be carried like a pistol since it would still be legally considered a "rifle."

I think the main concern is the $250-$300 price tag for a Handi vs the $650-$700 price tag for a T/C :P . Hell, you could register a Handi as an SBR and get basically the same thing and still save like $200 over a T/C, hah.
