 I check this site about every day and was just wandering why I dont see much talk about the 308 is there some reason their not very popular.And any info on factory ammo they like would be helpful. Thank You

Some years back I bought/traded for a 308 Survivor barrel. Ir sat on the shelf for some time. One day I grabbed it and went to the range... I was rewarded with many small consistent groups. I began to shoot it  more and more mostly because it shot so well. One day I had the idea I could make it into a 307 by turning a rim into the barrel. With the help of a good member here he did just that and now I have the first (we know of) 307/308 Handi!
 
It shoots either into 1" groups all day long... Needless to say, its a "keeper"!

They are boring, don't take much work to get shooting 1 moa or better groups.  Those that list their Handi collection usually include the .308.

The one I had liked Federal Fusion, Hi Shok, and Premium w/Sierra Game Kings w/165 grain bullets.  Hornady ammo always did good as well if using 165 grain bullets.

Only bad thing I would say about the one I had was that I had to watch it or the scope would get me.

Now CW, why did you have to do that?  Just when I thought I wasn't interested in a 308.  A 307/308 combo! Now that does sound interesting.  Resist, I must resist!

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

I'm very happy with my 308, got the barrel from a member here and it took a little fitting,
but as a couple guys have said it's a sub moa shooter.
It's never had a factory round through it since I've had it, but it does like 165-168 grn bullets better than 150's. I haven't had a need to go with heavier,,

My .308 Ruger always shot well with 165 -168 gr. boat tails.  When I got my Handi, I fed it the same diet and it is happy. :D   MOA
