Ex-Marine Tosses Occupy Heckler From Congressman’s Swearing-in

Posted on November 14, 2011 at 11:51am by Buck Sexton. One Wall Street Occupier messed with the wrong marine on Sunday, and got a little taste of the sidewalk sandwich as a result.

photo credit: NY Post/Matthew McDermott The New York Post sets the scene at newly-elected Congressman Bob Turner’s swearing in ceremony at a Queens school:

“Adam Weissman, 33, of Astoria, was one of three demonstrators to disrupt Turner’s local swearing-in ceremony at Metropolitan High School in Forest Hills. Turner won the congressional seat once held by disgraced ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner by defeating Assemblyman David Weprin.”

But the heckler was only able to get out a few words before Kevin Hiltunen of Brooklyn grabbed him by the scruff of his jacket and booted him out to the curb.
Hiltunen was identified by the Post as an ex-Marine and ex-NYPD officer.
“I guess you could say I sorted him out,” Hiltunen said, ”All I was doing was trying to stop this historic occasion from being disrupt-ed. There is a time and place to exercise your First Amendment rights.”
“This was not the time or the venue.”

Marines learn to believe in their abilities and to act swiftly. that puts their enemies off balance.
plus there is no such thing as an ex-marine. they are marines until they die.
there are no worshipers here. we just admire men who choose the toughest training, knowing that they'll be thrown on the front lines.

Yes sometimes people will go a bit overboard. The heckler should learn some manners, the ex Marine/cop probably showed alot of restraint because there is no blood in the photo.
YT3 I am sure you can handle yourself very well, everyone knows west coast martial arts schools are the best. I am also sure you may disagree with the politician sworn in but you would take a much more cerebral approach to voice your disapproval than common heckling at a ceremony.

I said the disruptive jerk should of carried on his protest outside the school....the poster's original article said the marine was a retired cop on account of a disability....that's in the article....how's that a deflection? The marine/retired PD looks and acts pretty fit...maybe his disabilty is mental--don't know.....fact is things aren't always as they seem. One fact to consider is that reportedly 70% of NYPD retire on a disabilty...and do you know why?

How is tossing a heckler from a from an event private property "assualt"? Yes a school is private property if you dont believe it go to the nearest school and kick the door down. let us know how it goes. The guy wasnt beaten wasnt maced wasnt tasered he was merely escorted out.

Would you feel the same had this been Wiener's swearing in or the messiah the lord and saviour Obama's swearing in? I doubt it.

What if this was your or your child's wedding? Would you be pissed at security for bouncing a disruptive person who wasnt invited? I doubt it.

I believe you will find that the local school board owns the school. Going by this line of logic I should be allowed unfettered access to the White House beacuse it is tax payers property.
