mdwest::: You will have to ask Junior to clarify what Junior wants to clarify.

Agreed.. I would be interested to see him substantiate his post with more than just rhetoric..

Misleading is what Webster's definiton is and denying  the Mussolini quote...Fascism is a little more complicated then your post or Webster's indicate; although I think the Mussolini quote nailed it.

We'll have to agree to disagree here.. I do agree with you that Fascism is more complex than the simple definition offered by webster.. but would also state that Mussolini's quote falls far from the mark as well (far too simplified.. there is much more to it than corporate relationships with government).. I would maintain that Websters definition falls closer to the true explanation than a single line from an Italian dictator however..

For me...US fascism is a joint DemoPublican operation....

this we agree on.. I would go so far as to say that there are people in both parties that have socialist leanings, communist leanings, and fascist leanings.. and that neither is any more guilty or innocent in the past 20 years of moving us away from the nation our founding fathers intended us to be..

that said, I would still maintain that the US becoming a fascist state within the next couple of generations (regardless of which political party is in power) is a bit of a stretch.. at its core fascism requires a dictator and an authortarian goverment.. something that neither liberals or conservatives have been inclined to allow for the past 200+ years.. while our rights continue to get trampled on by both major parties, no one group is in a position to take absolute unquestioned control (yet)...
