They are the same size as before.

Get them while you can.

I don't know if there will be one next year.  It turns out that they do sell, just despite having a markup built into the price, they are not profitable.

To quote Graybeard, "We haven't gotten a red cent from them in the past two years."

To further paraphrase Graybeard, The company that prints  them charges a quarterly fee, just to offer them for sale with the other GBO merchandise. The only thing that ever sells is the calendars. There isn't enough calendar sales cover the fees so the Company never send a check.

Graybeard also said, "One of the members on the H&R Centerfire Rifle Forum did a calendar this year thru someone else and he bought some quantity of them himself and when he sells them if he sells all he bought I think he said there would be some funds to donate."

"... no the Cannon calendar does not generate any revenue for the site."
Here is a quote from the  H&R Calendar post.  Not he had to have an order of 100 calendars to make it work.  I don't think we ever sold more than 10 or 15.

Tim, please feel free to put this wherever you feel it needs to go.

OK boys.
Here is your chance to own a 2012 calendar of H&R/NEF Long Guns that is owned by some of our very own GBO members.
These will be in full color with a brief description of the gun and feature the members GBO screen name.
They will be on card stock measuring 8.5"x11" with a 1/2" white border around each photo.
Each month will have the major holidays on them and be in standard black & white.
The calendar will be in two sections joined by a black spiral binding that will allow it to fold completely over and still lay flat.
It will feature a color cover protected by a sheet of clear plastic.
The photos to be used will be voted on by you, the members very soon.
We are working on a very shot time frame in order to get these out for the coming year.
The cost will be $12.00 each shipped to any of the lower 48 states.
Out of this at least $2.00 will go to GBO to help maintain the site we all use and love so much!
In the case of multiple sales of three (3) or more, where shipping can be combined then the extra money will also go to GBO.
An extra .50 cents each shipping charge will be added for orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada & Mexico.
International shipping runs an additional $3.00 each.
We need to sale at least 100 or more calendars to be able to get them done at this price.
We are off to a good start with about twenty some spoken for so far.
In order to speed this along I am going to pay for these myself at the time of placing the order.
I will deduct the total cost and send the rest to Matt for GBO.

I think these would make a nice addition to any gun lovers collection or be a great CHRISTMAS gift.
You will be helping to support GBO at the same time!
Let's start getting those orders in.

You can send a Money Order or Bank check to me at the following:

Please include your name & mailing address along with the quantity wanted on a separate sheet of paper.
PLEASE WRITE CLEARLY !!!

I'm thinking people like to show off their stuff and calendars are a useful piece of paper, so maybe do an online calendar that you print yourself if you want one.

Any opinions about this can be posted to this thread.

My originial idea on the calendar was to put together a dozen or two pictures (yes, two pictures per month - with a small calendar transparent background on one of them) could be provided to one of the large office supplie companies (as Staples or Office Max) and then everyone could buy their own from them locally.  We chose not to do this in respect for Graybeard and chose to support the parent enterprize that hosts us.

I've put together several calendars over the years this way - mostly of cats  ;D, cats and skunks   ;D :o  - and - a special prairie dog carnage calendar (limited edition).   :o ;D

Tim,

Are those calendar print on demand or  is there a minimum order.

By the way the local Staples  is 108 miles away and the local Office Max is 120 miles away. Do they do print on demand mail out?

I've dealt with Staples - they deal favorably with folks on the internet (often LESS than if you come into the store) and use the mail.  Prices start at $ for 1, and get less with quantity.

I don't think those are print on demand...someone would have to take orders, collect money, place print order, collect order and mail out.

If it were possible for us to each individually  log in, in this example to Staples website, and call up some sort of order number, place our order and have the calendar shipped direct , that would be great.

I'll ask.  I think it can be done with just one order given, individuals sending a reference to it.  Of course one wouldn't get the larger discounts, but the price-each isn't bad.  I know it CAN be done at an individual store.  Golly gee - they could mail individual orders most anywhere.

The price for 25 pictures (one for the cover and two for each month) is the same as with 13 pictures.  (Insted of the grid I substituted another picture.)  Then one can put a small grid monthly calendar on a dark/light area.  OK, there's no room to write anything down, but I look at the pictures.  ;D

I was thinking of doing something like this.  One 8 1/2 x 11 page per month.

If pic's of cannons and mortars are ever needed for advertising, calendars, etc... please let me know. We have many that we will send of what we own and what we've built here. We are working on an interesting 1.5" swivel gun... looks similar to the ones that were used on the front of whale hunting ships... Harpoon gun. We're going to build 2 of them. If anyone would ever be interested in one or the plans, please feel free to contact me.
