I finally uploaded the pics of the belt I was discussing in the stampings thread.  Here they are!

the stamping done!    ;D

It is all dyed now, but I'll save that picture until I sew the belt and liner together.

Looks good. A stabbing awl and a cake of beeswax is quicker than the drill on thin stuff like that.

13 - 14 oz is "thin stuff" to you!?   :o   I'd love to see what you consider "really heavy!"   ;D

I do use an awl sometimes, but I seem to have a hard time punching even holes.   :(   I'm sure I could get better with practice, but for those long streight lines I use the drill!   ;)

Well, Richard, ever how you do it, my knife and sheath are as good as I could ever "hope" to get store bought. I use the rig (in my avatar) EVERY SINGLE DAY. It goes in the truck when I do, and comes off when I do.

Well thanks!   :D   Soon's deer season is over I'll finish it up.  I think it took the dye real well.

Dee, It really gives me a great feeling knowing you like the knife.  Use it in good health for many years!   ;D   And I'll send you a picture of the 50 cent piece when I get it mounted!  After deer season of course...  ;)   Already got the frame and backing and such.

Three layers of 9 oz. is thick.  ;D I'll head to the drillpress for that. Part of the reason for drilling that thickness is because I can get a straighter seam on the backside. I still run an awl through the drilled holes as I think I get a smoother stitch that way.
