was out shooting the new
orange and turkey feather arrows tonight with the porch light on boy those wraps stand out great should be hard to miss with a flashlight after i zing over a bucks back
through the woods.
still havent got any heavy tips for the pink set
but the reflective set shot nice out of the gem longbow
they are 617 grains w/160 tips out of the 52# bow i pull it 28 1/4 finaly settled into a draw length
with this bow. around 11.6 grains per pound. im figuring 53# cause of 1/4inch
im happy with the way they turned out and they shot great.
better than me for sure.
now im making 2. 3arrow sets of fluflus with 23/64th 70# 420gr. and 440gr. poc. i got the 3rd coat polywipe drying now. i have some pink.orange and white nocks. i cut some white wraps 6in. theres about 4in of good quill left from the 5in. pink, orange and turkey shield cuts. going to use them for feathers thinking maybe a real turkey cock feather. not sure they dont lean the same way like the feather grain. is that ok to use differnt feathers together???.
same wing but differant angle to the feather so the front dose not line up. the turkey leans back more. im learning but have to ask the ? or i wont know.
im enjoying this trad thing way to much
