Favorite Christmas song? I'll have to think about that, but since I'm here I'll go slightly off-topic: my favorite Easter song is Anne Herring's The Easter Song, esp as performed by Keith Green and by  GLAD.

I miss Keith Green...

Boy, that's a tough question.  I love most of the old traditional hymns and many of the new contemporary songs as well.  If I'm forced to choose one right now it would probably be What child is this  only because we sang it in church this morning.  Ask me tomorrow and my answer may change.

My Christmas-o-meter cannot process your request at this time. It's still too early. There are some very fine Christmas songs, and I'll listen to them when Christmas gets closer. I just don't know what they are now.  :)

Not a Christmas song per se, but one that works anytime of year: Amazing Grace. There are a lot of renditions of it, and many of them bring a tear to my eye. I don't know where it came from, but my understanding is that it is derived from a very old tune, like midieval old.
 
If you've got a link to a favorite version of Amazing Grace, post it here and I'll check it out.
