Barney is quiting

Some of you apparently cannot understand what language is appropriate for a family website and what is not.  If you need a list of words or phrases that are not acceptable, please send me a PM.  I deleted a similar thread yesterday for the same reason.  Please discuss the topic using appropriate language.

When the first post of a thread gets deleted it usually destroys the thread.  This time I'll leave it, but please do not make me regret it.

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

Washington is a cesspool.
I believe that a record number of Dems are "retiring" before the 2012 elections.
Kind of like rats deserting a sinking ship.
Dodd-Frank takes credit for "fixing" the system that they screwed up in the first place. He should take Dodd with him. I'dd quit too.

I agree with Hermit. The party is coming to an end, and the hangover is about to begin. And these panty waists are going to feel the heat. Too bad, a couple years from now, a real news journalist isn't going to stick a microphone in their face, and ask them how they feel about how they put this country into the dumps. gypsyman

Yes, good riddance of Frank, but he has been reelected every time for the last thirty years. So I figure he is the kind of congressman his district wants, and a clone is sure to follow. Would almost wager the ranch on it.

Trickling down to state level as well. Washingtons Goobernor gregoire is not running for reelection, when she was appointed to office by a shopped for judge, our state had a tax surplus, now, just our state health dept is 17 billion in the hole.

The elite elected leave with their bennies intact, what difference does it make to them?

Pat/Rick, you just gave me a good idea. Somebody should suggest, no public offical, that was voted into office, will recieve any retirement/benifits,medical aid, or perks, until the state or federal govt. is in the black. gypsyman

how about their retirement increases in direct ratio of the growth of the gdp during their terms? kinda like a comission?

I think one of the reasons that Barney is giving up is that his district has hit by redistricting.  He now has more regular folks in his new district, and he isn't guaranteed a win.
