Hawke Scopes

Anyone had any experince with a Hawke scope ? Are they worth trying ?

I was stupid enough to buy oe to try and it was as bad if not worse than a modern Chinese Tasco ....................... utter junk.

Have only tried Jewell.  They are great but probably overpriced.  Have no other experience to compare it to.  Got very frustrated with a Mod 70 trigger and ordered the Jewell.  Got more in that trigger and gunsmithing cost than I do in the rifle.  But it is smooth, crisp, and safe, and I'm satisfied that it was the best I could do at the time, so there you go.

I purchased a Hawke 8x56 with the red dot.  Believe me i looked and checked it over and over on the net before takin a risk.  However, i would only ALWAYS buy lower priced scopes in Fixed power as i just don't trust the moving parts enough for shooting beyond 100yds.  I like the clarity and i had to use the red dot last week on a yearling as it was just about nightime.  I squeesed the trigger,kept the scope on the animal before he dropped dead.  If i didn't keep the scope on the deer i would have had difficulty in finding him!  I tested the scope for parallax at 100yds perhaps it 's my eyesight but parallax exists even when i tested closer and beyond 100yds.  Clicks values are strong when winding in, however one could slip over a few clicks if you werent' carefull.  Hope this helps. man in field conditions

It's my misplaced post about Jewell. Thought I was replying to someone's problem with a Mod 70 trigger.  Sure is out of place over here.  Sorry for the confusion (make that my confusion).   Charles
