I watched the video - why did the little tart make this video? - and note her plaintive, pissy whine when she's told, after refusing to participate, that she'll get some other assignment - 'AGAIN?' I suppose this isn't her first bit of uncooperativenesss class - was she filming the last time, as well? -  and I well-recongize that teenage grumpiness. Girl needs a spankin' - or maybe her Daddy does. Is that where she gets this close-mindedness?

Schools are doing all kinds of stuff like this. When my kids were in school all were ask to sign a paper stating they would not touch a gun for any reason. One refused and that was that. next one refused and went to office. Was told her parents were being called , she aid great can't wait for dad to get here. She was then sent back to class with out signing and I was not called. Third one was given the paper and he handed it back, teacher just walked away.
The young lady had every right to refuse .

Geez, folks....
I still don't think this event tx a big deal. I also think teach may have made something up - has anyone here ever heard the Mexican 'pledge of allegience'? Or heard of it?

How many here really think the aim was to get students to move their allegiance to mex nation?

Sounds like she has high personal convictions, which is nice to read and hear about in a 15 year old now days. Maybe the teacher should just have handed out a paper with the mexican pledge on it. Then, told the students in the class, that are mexican illegals, which we all know there are a couple. When you get a couple years older, go back to Mexico, and take what you learned here in America, and change your own country, instead of trying to change ours. nope but it does imply that you take the Pledge of Allegiance to your country with a grain of salt.

She is certainly within her rights to refuse to pledge allegiance to another nation.  I don't care what her reasons were.

when i was in school. we has some kids that did not say the pledge  and on Christmas and other Holiday's they just stayed home . no one thought any thing about it . that was their belief. we respected that and they the same to us. now that's whats left out here. no one should be forced to pledge to another flag so the Mexican kids should be saying ours are go south

GYPSYMAN. Darn good post Sir. Every classmate said the pledge while I was growing up in ILL and proud to do it, there were no exceptions. I can still remember all of us standing proud, straight, and tall with our hands over our hearts. At our grade school bball games the principal brought a record player onto the floor and played our national anthem as everybody there faced the flag with hands over their hearts. We had pride in America back then, not like todays libs. I miss the Patriotism that was typical of Americans back then. POWDERMAN.

I did not know mexico had a national anthem either. What the teacher did was pure "spit in your face" Nothing less. It had nothing to do with learning Spanish. She knew it, we know it and the girl called her on it. If this had happened in Cal, Ill, NY, big blue state etc.  the teacher would have pushed it knowing she would win. She just started a little early for tex. give it a few months and every school down there will be saying it.
The girl may be a tart or smart a77, dont know but she won the day because she was right, this time.
The teacher knows it want be long before the gringo will bow, she can wait.
