Congrats.  I know the feeling when they are in the truck. In 2010 may pard and I downed two elk the same morning.  It took us all day to pack them out.  We decided, then and there, elk hunting is a young man's game.  Since we are pushing 60 we just shot deer and antelope this year.  First time in 20 years I missed an elk season.

Congrats.

I shot my last elk in 2002, at age 54 and a month after smashing all the cartilage in my knee. Had to have the knee replace in 2008..If I shoot another elk I will hire some to get it out for me.

But i sure woulldlike to get another elk.

Congrats on the successful hunt, but it would have been much nicer photo if taken where you got it, and in a tasteful manor.

Hmmm fatercat, now how can you base that over my Moderator comment.

BTW, I have killed many an elk, deer and bear with a bow and or rifle over the years.

I'm not sure what your picture is supposed to be showing us, that you got a good elk or ar a truck load of elk but congrats!!!

Unfortunately, that's the only picture I have.  Both elk were shot right before dark so pictures weren't a high priority over getting them dressed out.  Not to mention that I didn't have a camera with me.

I'll try to take nice, tasteful photos next time.

And I guess all I was trying to say, and show, is that while elk on the ground are nice, elk in the truck is much nicer.  Getting them out was a LOT of work.

Have to agree the point between pulling the trigger and driving away with the truck loaded is not fun...but once the truck is loaded it sure feels good, and congrats again..
