Today, I shot something that richly deserved it
« on: December 03, 2011, 07:09:13 AM »
In the tree, 7:10am... smallish doe comes out of the cutover into the hardwoods, her flag up, clearly on alert. I bleated, she kept going. Then I hear something else coming from the same direction. Oh boy, I'm thinking, here comes her boyfriend... and who show up but a coyote, hot on her trail. Being a gentleman, I shot the coyote.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

If you had been a better marksman, you would have shot both! ;D

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

Well, yeah...  but she a small one and she was moving pretty fast, and I rarely shoot if they've moving good unless I feel really good about it. Also, I was on public land and does aren't in season now, and I was in a law-abiding mood today. Now if she'd have been bigger and not in such a hurry, I might have been tempted... haven't seen a lot this year, only two in the freezer.

The coyote was about forty or so pounds, beautiful coat, and large head/jaws for his size. They're bad actors, hard on fawns and on turkeys. I left him in the woods as bait.

If that was the case, wouldn't YT have shot the deer instead? I may need clarification here.   ;D

Isn't Coyote the name for a person that guides illegal aliens into the U.S.? If that is indeed the case here, wouldn't that fit the criteria of this forum? Perhaps YT was channeling his feelings about the current immigration situation upon yon furry beastie? Or perhaps he just felt the need to waste the varmint.

I thought "off topic discussions" could be about almost anything. I fail to see where it has to be political, religious, or news. There are already forum topics to cover all of those.

You did the right thing, yellowtail.  ;)

I"m tryin to figure out how a four legged coyote could be referred to as "someone". Is our thread starter a secret member of PETA?[/font][/i][/b] :o

You could just ask me if I'm a member of PETA. But before you ask... what do you think?

Actually it was a joke, and I thought that was obvious. As for you PETA membership, I really don't care.

It is refreshing to see a post "sans" politics or religion and killing a "yote" is always good news. ;)
