Obama getting tough with congress..
« on: December 05, 2011, 01:28:27 AM »
The Prez says congress better settle this deal about payroll taxes before Christmas...or they may not be going home for Christmas.....
    Meanwhile;.......
Obama is skipping off to Hawaii for a 17 day "fun & sun" vacation..
   http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/obama-family-planning-17-day-christmas-vacation-hawaii-article-1.986392

I wonder how much this is going to cost us ?  Anywhere the estimated $200 million it cost to ship Michelle to Spain ?

Below, see servants carrying Obama surfboards for a previous vacation..

Well I'm not a republican and I won't back Obama on taxing the "rich"...according to all sources the rich are already paying all the taxes, and half the people pay no fed taxes at all.  Fact.  But the biggest reason is ...why would anyone want to pay more money to a corrupt government that spends our money foolishly and using it for corruption?   If I were a billionare, I would not want to give this corrupt government anything until it's under control.  More tax money to go into corruption and needless spending is not the answer.  Get government under control, close up some loop holes for the super rich, and the government will take in much more money.  Besides, taxing the wealthy will get passed on to the consumer, so those few of us who do pay taxes will get soaked when they raise the price of their products like they always do when they get taxed more.
I would rather want to know why Obama does not want to close the loopholes and just stop needless and corrupt spending...seems to me he is as crooked as all of them, if not worse for being in a position to have some leadership and not use it.
Obama does not have a clue...his own party controls the senate and laughed HIS plan right off the table..97 to zip...it increased government spending by leaps and bounds...he obviously does not have a clue.  The house did offer a good bill,  and have a couple more ready, but the spenders in the senate won't stop out of control spending at all...and Obama is much worse...so much worse his own party runs away from him.

The Dem's in the senate have not had a budget in almost three years....they are failures, and Obama is at the top of the list of failures.  Tax the rich?  Is that all they have?  How about beating government back with a big stick and force them to stop spending our money on corruption?
Every time I have heard "taxing the rich" over all the years...it makes me want to puke..how can people be so ignorant?  And what would government do with more tax money???  Send more guns to the Mexican drug cartels?  Buy more bankrupt green companies to get money funneled back into Dem coffers?  More fed programs like the federal housing or national education where we have several office buildings full of people doing nothing we need with nice paychecks and pensions?  How about the office for the study of pig oder...yep there is one.
No more money to the government..from anyone...period.  Hope they stand their ground.

They are ignorant. Its the reason we have a president like we do. I equate the idea of taxing the rich to bring us out of debt, as border line retardation.

   Poor Andy;
First off, no Republican here.  many of us have grown up to the point where we don't need a "party teat" to nurse upon.
You simply must begin to understand what these tax breaks you're demanding are, exactly.  "Payroll taxes" are not just another added tax, in fact to call them a tax, is disingenuous .  The primary "payroll tax" is the employee's contribution to Social Security.
Now let's do some deductive reasoning Andy...  Social Security is about broke; is it likely that witholding it's normal supporting funds for a year will make it more solvent ?  These contributions have been skipped for a year already, will the SS fund be helped greatly by further witholding of contributions ?
Do you know anybody who relies upon their Social Security check, mom, Dad, Gramps or a neighbor ?

...The Social Security system desperately needs an overhaul or replacement, but giving a "contribution holiday" for 2 years, while borrowing money from China to fill the gap, sure doesn't smack of sound economic practice !

But then, our economy and world standing politically, has only deteriorated at an exponential rate..since the 'chosen one' has spent time in the oval office..(whenever he's not on vacation, that is)

Obama's payroll tax cut should be called what it is, a social security tax cut. SS went into the red this year so to cut revenues is Obummer's answer. It would be better to cut income tax and reduce government spending to compensate than to further undermine social security at this point in time. The Ponsi scheme will end soon enough.

Andy, you could tax the rich all that they have and it wouldn't even dent the deficit. A desire to squelch the productive in society to feed the lesser productive is what weakens the herd. All society suffers. This sinful desire is called Envy.

I am not a Republican, but don't assume that I am a socialist either.

Don't forget guys, it was Clintoon and his administration who first started to TAX social Security checks... Obummer who gave each SS recipient a $250 check..then did not allow a Cost Of Living adjustment to SS for 2-3 years..

Andy1300,

You really should examine congressional voting records more closely.   The Republicans in the House have passed no less than 24 bills that will reform the tax code, Social Security, the healthcare industry, and create jobs [hint.....the bills create jobs and help the country].   But Dingy Harry and his Democrats (hint....same party as Obummer) will not allow them to come up for a vote.  The reason is simple:  control the docket so any successes can be claimed by the Demoncrats and Obummer.

Why?, you ask.  Obummer is up re-election.   His records is currently one of failure and scandal.

I doubt this explanation will meet your Obamatopian paradigm, but the truth has been revealed unto you.

BTW, it is spelled Republicans, not "Repubilcans".

The catch is Republicans don't want the provisions that Reid and Obama stuck in the bill that guts military and defense spending up to as much as 800 billion dollars. Did you even know that? And they refuse to give up their little pet projects, aka. "pork", to payback unions and supporters. Dems are always playing the bleeding heart good guys without mentioning, and even covering up, all the bad stuff in their bogus bills. It appears the propoganda worked on you. I think they call that, "drinking the koolaid".

YEP, but since obummer has been in office food has probably gone UP at least 20-25%, and since an election is coming he has decided to give ss recipients a BIG raise next year, a bit over 3 %. WOW, not sure what to do with all that xtra money. Probably buy more dry beans and flour. POWDERMAN.  :o :o
