A bunch of new earth-like planets discovered. Pretty cool.

The idea may seem tired and old because this sort of thing has been a science fiction staple for decades, but in reality it is a very cool discovery. I'd like to see some more detail on this.

Saw a piece on this this morning.  Fascinating!  What makes it even more fascinating is the fact that this recent discovery is actually 600 years old due to it's distance from us. 8)   I'd bet Discovery Channel already has something in the works for a near future broadcast.

I really like this, and am looking forward to when we can go there and check it out for real.
 
OK Captain Kirk, we got your communicator (Cell Phone) down pat.  We're having some problems with that pesky Transporter Beam, but more important how about that Warp Drive for our Space Shuttles, so we can get to these planets in one life time.

A point well taken. As cool a discovery as it is, it's useless to us because it's 600 light years away. From a practical point of view, it may as well not exist.
