Last Saturday my son killed two with one shot, both head shots, He caught a herd of about 30 on a feeder and shot to kill the largest one, it turned out to be a sow about 225 pounds, the other one was also a young sow about 60 pounds, We hauled them up on the hill near the road and left them for the vultures and coyotes. The small one would have likely made good table fair, but we didn't want to mess with cleaning it since it was near dark and a little on the cold side. I usually just open the back, take the backstrap and hams and leave the rest
So far this year we have taken 16 pigs off my place, I just want to get rid of them. They tear up fence, keep the creeks so muddy cattle or deer won't drink, eat the quail and turkey eggs as well as young fawns, if I could get them all gone I would be happy. The only good side, I haven’t seen a rattle snake or copperhead since the pigs moved in.
