Turning your big bore into a small bore
« on: December 07, 2011, 01:32:01 PM »
While I was on my lunch brake I found this  ( http://www.shilohrifle.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=34&products_id=208&osCsid=aa775244a48750398e5a78867b1e1d4b )
and I would think it would be a cheep way to practice, has anyone used one of these is it worth the money?

Seems a bit pricey, but probably well made.  At 25" it's longer than most of the insert type such as MCA's which is 14" I think.  ;)

I was thinking of trying to make one but the real problem is how to support it in the barrel, really all it is, is a 22cal barrel insert with a 45-70 case attached and reamed with supports along the barrel.  I am wondering just how it would shoot.
