niether my two 6mms or my 243 will shoot bullets lighter then 75 grain well. Im sure its because of the 1-9 twist. I would guess youd need at least a 1-12 twist to really make them work well and a 1-14 would probably be ideal.

Nosler says the twist rate must be 1:10" or quicker to stabilize these things. I've shot several hundred of all of the Varmint Grenades and have found accuracy okay for 100 yd shots but down here, you might be shooting 500 yds. Staying on a coyote at that distance and the so-so accuracy of these pills says if you hit him at all, it was a lucky shot. I won't use them at all. They are explosive but that also means you can't shoot them in a light fog or thru a spider web or an errant flying insect. I'd suggest using a real bullet like a V Max.

If you already have them you might as well try em. They may be longer than some 75 gr bullets. I am planning on trying some. I'd like to try a 500yd shot. They may not be the right bullet for that task. I'm probably not up to it either. Your gun will decide if it likes them.
I've had good luck with the .224 VGs but the longest shot was a dead coyote at 200yds. Dropped another at 100 and I didn't find an exit hole in either one. If they were at 500 I'd feel lucky if I hit one.
Good Luck and let us know.

the previous load i used was 45gr of IMR 4895 behind a 70gr hornady hp, one hole accuracy and great ballistics, think i'll bite the bullet
and relegate the VG to the shelf where i keep the part boxes of un-used bullets. thanks for the opinions, i loved the idea of a bullet that i could use @ 10yds on called dogs and 400+ for the "smart" ones with no exit wound on either. guess there's no such thing as the perfect bullet.
