It's way too much for me, but someone out there may buy it, you never know.  They've got this one up in Ruger 1 territory, but it may be more collectible than I realize.

The stamp on the barrel looks factory....and it's a heavy barrel....curious to see if anybody else thinks that's reasonable.

I'd say that's about $400 too much for it. But.... some idiot will probably get caught up in the frenzy like they do on here and fall all over themselves to bid on it.

Jason... do you think your Maxi is worth $650?

My factory "max" is finished in electrolress (sp) nickel and has a matching 20ga. mod. barrel..If I ever consider selling it It'll start off 200$ less than that one.. :o

Not sure what he really has.
I may be wrong but I thought ULTRAs had 24" barrels?
If you look at the caliber letter stamping they appear to have been stamped with the same stamp.
By chance could this be a factory barrel and chambering somehow?
I really don't think so but who knows!
Still not worth that to me but if it were a factory order than may just be one of a kind.
Who knows!

It's the way the stamp on the barrel looks factory that has me confused. I'm wondering is anyone knows if H&R ever made Maxi barrels at the factory .....I think I'm calling your name Tim.

Hi All,

IIRC, this is the third thread on that "Maxi".   The gun has been listed for many months and was originally listed at either 800 or 900 bucks.  I assume the seller is just trolling for a fool.  Interesting non-factory scope rail with the notches cut across a couple of the screw holes. ::)

Yes, they did, but it was back in the day. I believe CW has a factory Maxi barrel. I could be wrong though.

I've got a factory 058 .357 Maxi that I purchased unfired in the box for $280 a few months ago. And I thought that was a little steep. And it came with a matching 20 gauge barrel in the set!

Yes I do have a factory Maxi barrel. It's a slim taper. To the best of my knowledge that's how they made them. There was no heavy (ER) contour. But you know how that goes I could be incorrect.  ::)

I think I have a pic of the roll mark....

It's labeled "Topper Model 357 MAX" on two lines.

I cant help but wonder what the actually price was that allowed them to typo $6K Was it meant to be $60 or $600 heh

And I most certainly wouldnt pay $650 for a factory or not maxi , Not when picking up a 357 mag for $250-ish and then borrowing the maxi reamer is an option.
