G2, MGM 30-30IMP, Hunting, Pics!
« on: December 11, 2011, 01:55:38 PM »
WV. doe season was this week. I played hooky from work and went hunting. After a while sitting near the head of a hollow I spotted three yotes across the hollow. They circle the hollow and the yote in the lead and at 50yds spotted me. With both paws on a log and him looking right at me I layed the Tender in the sticks and squeezed off a shot. He did a flop and run. There was hair, blood and some meat but no yote. I track a blood trail for a piece but still no yote. Not wanting to ruin my doe hunt I went back to that. About a hour later I dropped a mature doe. While dragging my doe out off the ridge I found my yote. First one I ever killed and felt great to take it with a pistol. Stinking little beast but I had to have the tail. I forgot my camera at home and dropped the deer off to be processed so I have no deer pic.

I went hunting again the next day and this time did remember the camera. And boy I'm glad I did as I spotted two of these. One was bedded down and I could only get pictures of one. It would have been a legal kill and kind of neat throphy with a pistol but I shot it with my camera and let it walk, with good memories and no regrets.

Awesome story! Congrats! Also, I love the inclusion of the ammo box showing the green BTs and the 2 spent rounds. That looks sharp and rounds out the story nicely, too.

Hope you and your family are all doing well.

Excellent story and great photos.  Who did the stock work on your pistol?  It is beautiful.
Yeah, I'm a rifle looney
