35 Caliber availability, Rifles or accessory barrels
« on: December 15, 2011, 06:59:09 AM »
Does New England Firearms sell barrels (or produce complete rifles) in 35 Caliber?  I see them on in the classifieds but I am never quick enough to find one.  I am specifically interested in the 357 Max, 35 Rem, or the 356/358 Win.
There are some specific caliber restrictions in my state for some of our hunting seasons and these look to be excellent calibers for some of my young hunters.
You should have said something; I didn't know I had struck a nerve.

First off, there is no NEF any more, there's a list of accessory barrels and their part numbers in the FAQs on the retail parts page, the 35 Rem is one of them, Madison customer service doesn't have a good handle on what they have in stock, better to PM Brian56 for availability.

As Tim said, the .35 Rem. is available.  The Max was made for a while in the Topper, but most of us have reamed .357 magnums.  I believe some here have .358s.  Dinny has a custom .356 and I am in the process of building a .356 by reaming a .357, and replacing the extractor with a .30-30 extractor.

To carry this further, can you guys tell me if the handi still comes in 35 whelen?  I know they use to make it but discontinued in the late 2000's.  Did they ever bring it back?
