You'll find one cheaper on eBay.

I sure don't know and have wondered the same thing.  I'm sure someone will chime in since I've seen the Wallymart Model 700s mentioned on the forum.

Savage has disclaimers on their website for specific models that state that certain retailers specify the deletion of features such at the Accutrigger and to check for those features before buying.

  Yawn! . . . .

If you want a Remington 700 BDL, go to a couple of large gunshows and find one made in the 1980s for a bargain price.  Why are you going through all of this rigamarol?  You are trying to reinvent the wheel.

Another good option is pawn shops.  I bought my wife a nice older 700 adl in 30-06 last summer,  I sold the Nikon that sat on top, traded my retired neighbor some fire wood to refinish the stock, bought some leupold bases and rings, and topped it with a Leupold 4x that I traded into for a couple of venison roasts(that is a long story), all in all I'm into the rifle for $230 dollars, and my wife killed her biggest buck to date with it last November.  Oh, and not to get off topic the Walmart rifles are true Remington's and shoot like Remingtons should, very accurately.

I visited my local Walmart the other day and saw an entry level 700 in 7MM.    Its price was significantly lower than similar rifles I have seen elsewhere.  Question, are Walmart Remingtons the same as Remingtons you can buy elsewhere for more, or does Remington cheapen its Walmart rifles?

I think Remington "cheapens" one of the 700 models sold in Walmart by making a matte blued, blind magazine, "Tupperware" stocked rifle with an integral trigger guard that I've never seen for sale anywhere else.  Our Walmart here in town has one of these on the racks now.  I don't care for the stock on this.  I don't like the look or the feel.  I doubt if the actual barreled action is "cheapened" in any way.  It's just the stock that is used that I don't like.

So, if I bought one of these, I'd be inclined to do something similar to what Swampman did and drop the barreled action into a CDL stock with a BDL bottom metal kit from Brownells.  But by the time I did all of that, I could just go ahead and get a CDL for about the same or less.

Or, I could do what I did....  I paid $400.00 for an N.I.B. condition 721 in .270 that is fast becoming my all-time favorite centerfire rifle. It's totally satisfactory as-is.  Maybe a hinged floorplate would be nice, but I grew up having to run rounds through the action of a 336 to unload, so doing the same in a bolt gun doesn't bother me much.  Blind mag is therefore not a dealbreaker for me.

That blind mag 700 at Walmart might be a heck of a deal for someone who likes it as is, but it wouldn't be for me because I don't like that stock that is used.  I dislike it so much that I would be changing it.  That makes that cheap rifle not so cheap when I can get something that I really like as issued on the pre-owned market or simply save a bit more and buy a CDL and live happily everafter.

Blind magazine gun are ADLs and have been longer than most on here have been alive most likely. They are not limited to anyone place and in fact all of them I've ever owned came from gun stores not from Wal-Mart where I've never bought a firearm.

I'm really not familiar with the plastic trigger guard as part of the stock mentioned. All of the centerfire Remington rifles I've owned have separate metal trigger guards tho certainly an ADL action would lend itself to an integral trigger guard as part of the stock.

The Walmart ADL does not have an intergal triggerguard.  It is plastic as are all ADL triggerguards these days.  It has a blind magazine box as do all ADLs.  It's plastic stock is made from exactly the same material that all Remington plastic stocks are made from.

Graybeard, I agree with you.  Everybody talks about a Walmart deal and then complains about their LGS not carrying every make and model firearm, scope, gun part they gotta have yesterday. It cost me more in the long run but it makes me feel good to walk in my favorite LGS and have someone call me by name and fills me in on the latest gun news,  or offer to loan me a shotgun if mine has a broken extractor, so I won't miss that dove shoot, or call me me and let me know they just took in on trade a certain S&W wheelgun I have been looking for, or throwing in a gun rug and a box or two of shells (after we made the trade), or sell/ship a gun for me and  only charge me the transfer fee. My LGS is 27 miles away and the closest Walmart is 16 miles away.  I know the exact mileage of each because I drive by Walmart on the way to my LGS.   JMO

It cost me about twice as much to buy from the gun shops in my area as it does to buy from Walmart.

charles, which one do you support as far as firearms, gun related products?  Not trying to make a point or change the content of this thread, just curious.  I apologize to everyone, if I got off track.

if you buy or own one a remington 700 you might look in to seeing why they are going off an inadvertently killing maiming people remington has been sueded repeatedly they should have recalled all there 700 rifles. the military has had problems with them to .i suggest  that if you have one change out the trigger mecanizim and safety.

You might want to check out the facts on what your posting.  It's just a bunch of foolishness.

When folks mess up they tend to blame the gun . If you spend time in gun shops or ranges one thing you will notice is people put their finger on the trigger when they should not. That's why most ranges won't let you load unless the weapon is pointed down range and why when humans are down range you cant touch the gun. I would ask , we all know mechanical safties are not to be trusted so why were the guns that hurt people pointed at them in violation of the first safety rule of gun handling ? If shooters did the safe thing Remington could have the most dangerous trigger ever made and no one would get hurt. In some of these cases it almost funny but the guns can't be made to fail a second time , hummmm ?
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
