Japans nuclear issues how will we be effected by the goods we buy

I was told that the car companies were slow getting the electrical parts they needed for the 2012 car lines both US car makers & overseas car makers...Was wondering what does the US do in port to protect us from nuclear radiation from these imported items & Parts even parts stores carry jap & china parts.....Even a tonka truck & cell phone is made in china.......I'm guessing the US is turning its head and looking the other way..... But I hope not!!!!    Dale

Buy only 100% American made.  That might not be all that easy, but think of the money you'll save.
