Well, "I" came to a conclusion...  After getting the big buck with my drilling this fall, i think i'll retire it for a while...  Maybe even put a 25-06 bbl. i have lieing around on a 700 Rem. that i haven't fired in at least 20 years...

No, no conclusion yet, but I will keep that concept alive in the minds of my grandkids as long as possible. DM, parking the drilling?  Are you bored with it?  I, as yet, don't have my first one. Just my 2400. I picked up a Sauer 202 yesterday in .300 Wby, not new, but in excellent condition, and at a relatively (operative word) price. I am asking myself why? Don't even know if I really wanted it. I guess because it was there in the gun shop. Should go hunting around for a drilling - more my style. Ah well. Never had to much luck with a .25-06. Had one in a Browning B-78. Super accurate. But, I hunted mule deer with it and didn't like the results.  Maybe wasn't feeding it the proper food. Now a drilling in a reasonable caliber (covers many of them).....

I've hunted with my drilling for over 25 years now, and it's up to 27 or 28 one shot kills in a row on big game, should i go for 30??  lol

As for selling it?  Come back when you win the meg a million LOTTO!  ha ha ha

I'll still be useing it, just not so much for big game...  I already dug out my old Rem. 700 .240 Wby., and shot two whitetails with it this fall.

As for feeding the 25-06, feed it NP's and NO whitetail/mullie/blk. bear has a chance!

DM,

The 25/06 is a fine deer round, IMO. So is the 257W. But i doubt you'll retire your drilling for long....After all it's your signature firearm...  ;)
