DD, The 50 yard range is an excellent alteration. Wish I had something that shot 2" stuff, 2.25 is my smallest.

I no longer get a paycheck here, but i still support the sponsor.  One of them should be able to help you.

Wait a minute, I never got a paycheck her.  I took all the abuse for free.

But what about all the other perks?  The key to the EXECUTIVE men's room, for example.

What about the use of the company jet. The chauffeured limosine and the unlimited expense account have to have counted for some creature comforts. Not to mention the free booze.     ;D

I'm recently retired (early) myself, so like all old farts I have no money.  And don't worry, we'll abuse you for free!

I need clarification on eligibility DoubleD, I am shooting 1/3 scale GB bore.  This puts me under 2 inches but greater than 1/4, am I eligible for Div. II?

As scale and bore might be two separate specifications is this close to what you expect Division II to be?

  • ¼ ≤ scale ≥ 1/2 & 0.800” ≤ Bore ≥ 2.00”
I was practicing at 100 yd. and I will say 50 yd. will be a tad more enjoyable.  6 holes in the paper might represent 8 shoots at 100 yd.  ;)

If you're getting 6 out of 8 on paper at 100 yards, I'm already impressed. No need for me to enter this one!

Please do enter, after all I was shooting at molasses tubs which are alot larger than the slow fire targets.  1Fg & concrete bolt and I was dropping them in.  Looked more like shooting a mortar than a howitzer.   8) I think P38 will be the real challenge.  He was talking about turning a few bolts last I talked to him.

If you had submitted targets with holes smaller than 2 inch I would have simply scored them.

But since you asked...a line has been drawn and the gun must be 1/4 scale or smaller.  Sorry.

:( No problem.  I prefer to know the rules and seek clarification before asking forgiveness.

Just gives me another excuse to seek another cannon.

The irony would be classifying the barrel not as a 10-lb but larger I could always sneak it in since it is right on the line.  But that is not who I am.

Maybe with your blessing I could sponsor a similar shoot for just GB bore shooters?. 8)

You certainly don't need my my blessing.  You want to do it, do it.

This forum started because Douglas and I wanted to know more about cannons.

The (Almost) Annual New River Valley Mortar and Cannon Shoot started because another nearby member kept bugging me about going and shooting - the name of the event was from atmospheric extraction.

Start planning, advertise a little and DO IT!
