Pattys ankle.
« on: December 19, 2011, 03:34:37 PM »
Still trying to correct the ankle that doc screwed up. She was fitted with an Arizona brace last week, a leather thing to support her bad ankle and fits in her shoe.  Her doc said that her bones are deteriorating in both feet and in 3 mo he wants to get her rt ft fitted for a brace.
We saw our family dr on unrelated stuff and I told him what the xpert said and told him he hadn't xrayed her ankle in 4 months but somehow suddenly knew that her bones were deteriorating in both feet, never having xrayed her rt ft. I told him I felt the other dr was trying to coverup his partners screw up and that he was simply gouging her med card. He ordered more xrays. Results are the ankle is badly damaged from the other drs screw up, and the bones are FINE, NO DETERIORATION. He's been lying to us. Patty hurts a lot and can't walk far, pain is worse at night.
I swore I wouldn't do it but after Christmas I'm going to see a lawyer. We've spent so much on gas for these apts, over 100 miles round trip, that it has really hurt us. From what I hear if we would get anything the state would want reimbursed for all the treatments, and rightly so. Problem is that I fear Patty would lose her med card and that would sink us.  Prayers appreciated. Charlie.  Angry Angry

Prayer offered.  I'm sure you would have to reimburse, and I'm not a fan of lawsuits, but trying to cover a mess is beyond  the pale.  If they had owned up and  tryed to fix it....

I would call the med. ins. provider, and clue them it to see what they say, but I doubt they would cancel.

Dr.s who lie and cover up need to go away...

I went thru this some years ago with a twisted ankle. At the time I only had Champus ins.(retired military) I got a copy of the billing that was sent to the gov. A call to champus and explained that this dr. was padding the bill big time, most of the stuff listed never exsisted. Champus red flagged this guy right away. About a mo. latter had to take the wife in for some simple treatment and he starts talking x rays surgery a long stay in the hosp. Told wife she was leaving NOW. notified champus and they came down hard on the hosp. Hosp. told the dr. to retire or get fired. He had a major drinking prob. He retired. Ins. co.s dont like to pay for something that is not needed or done. I would consult somebody in the legal proffesion tho.

Hope things work out the best for her. You have to be your own medical representative and keep on top of things. As you know Docs aren't perfect and they tend to be a "brotherhood" kind of like cops for covering for each other. Hopefully her condition can be improved.

We signed papers for the quacks to realease all of her records  to be sent to our family dr. The quack said she would spend the rest of her life in these spcl braces. Kinda had my blood pressure up too wil mild chest pains the past 4 or 5 days, haven't needed a nitro yet. Thanks for all of the prayers, she needs every one of them. POWDERMAN.  :( :(
