I have been using  snares and cable restraints for years.  The cable restraints  laws are very restrictive in WI but only way we could get tool to use in the society today.  Easy to use, light weight to carry but alot of weight carring fur out...LOL...

Nothing finer for beaver. Especially nuicance jobs, if it's an established colony and everyone needs eviction heavy setting of snares and I'll clean them out in a couple of days. One of these days I'm going to work on the coyote population with them.

I'd use restraints if we had enough snow to get the yotes to trail. I'd use snares on beaver if the WI DNR would leave the water level on the Rock River alone rather than manage it for the benefit of  Horicon Marsh.

You dont need snow  to set snares for yotes.    Set trails that yotes normally run during summer.   Do it ,  it works great....

During deer season, yotes are flying all over the place avoiding hunters and having snares out  all over covering various routes can be very productive in catching yotes....BUT.... with hunters blowing snared yotes apart and stealing fur and sometimes snares, it isnt worth it till the deer hunter slobs are out of the woods....not all deer hunters are slobs and thieves......
