Weaver V9-B AO scope question
« on: December 20, 2011, 04:10:21 PM »
I have a rifle that came with a Weaver V9-B Adjustable objective scope on it. What years were these scopes made and are they made in El Paso??? Are they collectible.  Thanks Robbie

Not sure start-to-finish time, on these...but I am sure they were out in the mid 1960's based on some old ads that I have seen form magazines of that day. They are somewhat collectible.. Most v9's willsell for 75 to 125 bucks pending condition, box, etc..

They are very rugged scopes, but lack some of the new coatings on the optics that are on today's scopes. I have many El Paso made weavers and like them all, and use many on my guns.

I have a question about that older Weaver variable.  I had one in the 70's and if my memory is correct, the power ring adjustment was the reverse of a Leupold.  I have no idea if this is correct or not.  Will you post again on this topic and tell me which direction of rotation turns up the power.  Thanks,  Charles

Charles, I looked on one of my V9 scopes, and if you are holding the scope up to your eye, you would rotate the adjuster to the left, or CCW, to increase the power.
