I had considered trading my .22 Hornet barrel for a carbine barrel and getting away from the handgun configuration in the Contenders. But yesterday I looked at a .44 Mag barrel that was about ten inch and had a raised rib that had open sights on it that I could actually see. Both front and rear sights seemed to be adjustable and made for a good looking package. Is this something that proved successful and accurate? What kind of results has been had with this caliber in the Contender, and can full loads be used in the Contender? Thanks for any responces.
