Not only a very bad thing to do but he was quite stupid on how he went about too.

Ah, news from the War on (some) Drugs. Officer Blass says the charges are 'baseless', that he didn't do it. He's been framed by his fellow police, I guess.

This is an EXCELLENT example of why you should never, never, NEVER consent to a search by LE... they just might plant evidence on you, and you'll be screwed. That, and they might steal cash from your car.

Sounds to me like he got off easy. Had he succeeded, an innocent man may have been sent to prison, raped, family broken up... all under color of law.

THE DA NEEDS TO GO BACK AND EXAMINE EVERY CASE BLASS HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Had a similar situation here in KCK a few months back.  The DA had to dismiss a bunch of cases because the SCORE unit (drug enforcement team) was being watched by the Feds for stealing and extorting the dealers they were supposed to be arresting.  Eventually they setup a sting and caught some of them but a lot of criminals were released in the mean time.

The thing that I was so happy to see was that the Chief understood that he could not get an honest investigation from his own department and brought the feds in, or at least that's how he spun it.  If it had stayed in house someone would have lost a couple of days of vacation time and then back to business as usual.

The perp the drugs were planted on is Celestino Orono who is currently serving time in the Middleton Unit of TDC for various crimes including distributing of drugs, theft and forgery, this conviction was not based on the testimony of Glass.  According to the records Orono has a charge sheet longer than my leg, a crook by any terms, but I do not condone planting drugs for a conviction.

Glass is one of many corrupt cops, check this out.

That is how it's usually done, if it goes that far.

There was a time when certain professions were considered so important that strenuous and exhaustive entrance requirements, background checks, and schooling designed to weed out the incompetent resulted in almost certainty that the practitioners that achieved certification could be trusted to be the best.  Now that affirmative action, special considerations in the name of diversity, and a universal entitlement mentality are the norm, incompetent and untrustworthy persons are popping up in those professions with increasing frequency.  Incompetent and untrustworthy janitors are inconsequential.  Incompetent and untrustworthy doctors, attorneys, and LEOs can be deadly, but that is what we are getting.

stillkickin, are you attributing police mis-behavior to affirmative action?

that's a new one...

If the shoe fits.  It has and is happening in my company.  The end result eventually is someone will be killed on the job.  Hope I am retired by then.  I have warned my superiors about the promotions with lack of experience and just last month someone got a fractured skull.  I am 58 and was hoping to retire early, but the stock market tanked and so did my 401 k and pension.
