I bought the Trackers in 44mag and 45 acp. The trigger pull in double action on all of them is extremely heavy. The Raging series guns in 454, 22hornet,218bee, etc had a heavy but much smoother trigger pull. I do not like to cut or replace springs in them because of the light firing pin strike issue. Taurus uses a different angle or something in the Tracker verse Smiths model 19 that makes the leverage of the trigger different. With the side plates off looking at both guns you can see it. I was always told they were the same but they look different to me and the smith that was showing it to me. He said it was why you get misfires out of them when you lighten springs. You can smooth up the gritty feeling, and with light loads and Federal primers may get away with it. I personally shoot very little double action and other than smoothing some leave them alone. For what they are and the cost I love mine. They are extremely accurate, to the point the Taurus shoots better groups at 100 yards than my custom shop Smith. I do not believe the smaller frame Taurus will have the same useable life with full factory loads the Smith will have. Years ago I was one of the load to the max guys and can tell you from experience you can shoot a Smith loose with enough heavy loads. I will be kinder to the Taurus and hope to get several years out of them.
