We just left Iraq and already it's showing signs of destabilization. I won't be long before it returns to a complete craphole similar to the way it was before we arrived. We lost thousands of good men and some good women soldiers too. We also spent an untold, disgusting amount of taxpayer dollars on Iraq. Innocent civilians caught in the crossfire also lost their lives. For what? What did we gain other than thousands of lives lost and a Trillion dollars down the toilet? Iraq was not a threat to the United States. We the people were sold a bill of goods based on propaganda.
Those third world countries are always in a turmoil unless a strong arm leader takes over.
Saddam was a thug of the sorriest kind, but the country was somewhat stable, and no threat to us or our partners. Now that we have managed to bring (Democracy) to them, it will explode and be bloody until a strong ruthless leader emerges.
Have we accomplished anything by invading them? IMO, it depends on who the (WE) is
We the people of this nation have lost Son's and Daughters over there and the people of Iraq have also lost them because of it. Not to mention what it's cost the economy. And it ain't over by a long shot! What do the returning Vets have to look forward to! Some will be without wives, homes, or jobs.
A few made fortunes because of the war, and as General Smedley Butler said......"War is a racket" Fought on the backs of many for the profit a few! They always have been and always will be!

Wrong war .. wrong time. We took our eye of the ball which was always tracking down those responsible for 9/11 ie; Bin Laden hiding out in Afghanistan. We should never have been in the business of nation building. But Hey Haliburton did well.
Some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
Ooh, they only answer More! more! more! yoh,
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, one.
