Hello all, :D

I have a revolver, Ruger blackhawk .45 LC, and was wondering if any one uses a revolver for Silhouette shoots and could give me some tips, other than get rid of the revolver.

Donna, We do indeed have a Revolver class.  Further, the .45 LC will work just fine.  Depending on barrel length, the revolver could qualify in 3 events: Field Pistol Production, Big Bore Revolver and Big Bore Standing.

Depending upon how heavy you load your .45, it can be very suitable for silhouette.  If you load very heavy hunting type rounds then I suspect that the ol .45 LC could be a bit of a handfull by the end of a match.  I have found that the best place to start a new discipline is exactly where you are at as long as you have some relatively suitable hardware.  Since you do, then I suggest that you get out to a match and blast away.  As you gain experience and skill, then you will better be able to determine if a new pistola is in your future.

I am toying with shooting my 44 mag Super Redhawk...where can I get the leather thing to protect my leg from chamber blast??

You could easily make one.  I think that Ken Light offers a blast shield on his website.  Check it out...

If you don't locate one, drop me a PM.  My neighbor sews saddles and all sorts of stuff.  He made me a leg shield for my revolver that's quite nice.  Although mine was the prototype and only cost me a couple of beers, he can make more (don't quote me, but somewhere around 30 bucks or so depending upon the price of leather).  Leather has gotten expensive lately (I guess cows are rare nowadays).
