Ok, so you bought it, what are your impressions?? How does it shoot? Would you recommend others buy one as well??  I guess I am asking for a range report.

They seem to be a nice pistol, made in Germany for Sig.  I too would like to her more from owners of the Sig or other 22 pistols made by GSG.  DP

They are made in Germany by GSG,  for Sig.  Only difference is SIG sells the ones marked with their name for more $.  I own one of the GSG marked ones, and it has been an accurate, reliable, and well made gun.  Sights are drift adjustable, and it comes with two additional front sights to adjust POI.  Three or four bricks thru it without issue.  Supposedly 80% of the parts will interchange with a standard .45 1911.  I looked at what was available in a .22 1911 several years ago, and barring the expensive Kimbers, it was the best made of the bunch, and a great value at about $340.00, today's going rate.  I was able to pick up mine for $299.00 from my friendly neighborhood gun shop when they first came out.

Shown alongside a Kimber 1911 .45 for comparison

Thanks for the info Bigeasy, I was thinking about getting the Sig, but I will look at the GSG as well. Saving a few bucks is always a plus.

Is the Sig 22,1911 a true 1911 where you have to carry it cocked and locked or is it a double action where you can just pull the trigger while the hammer is down?

Single action, cocked & locked, just like any regular 1911.

Got the GSG a few days ago, this is a tack driver and shoots great.. Not one jam or fail to feed after 500 rounds.. Think I got a winner here..  Got 3 mags and just ordered another. I think this is going to be one of my favorite guns to play with.

Redhawk-

Glad you like yours.  Nice gun if you are a 1911 fan.  Those spare mags are kind of pricey, but very well made.  Curious - How is the grip safety on yours?  Mine is smooth, and works well, but with a very heavy spring, heavier then any of my other 1911's.  Not a problem, since I have big hands, and usually do not use a high thumbs grip when I shoot.

Bigeasy,  yes the mags are pricey but well made. My new one just came in, got it from HK parts.net got $31.95 plus $6.00 shipping and handling. The grip safty on mine is very smooth as well, and the spring is not heavy to me, about like my 1911's.
