45-70 with surplus powder
« on: December 23, 2011, 04:27:19 PM »
I'm thinking about getting some of that WC872 surplus powder and want a good load for my 45-70 buffalo classic. I want to have a 300 grain cast bullet going around 1500 fps if possible. Is there anyone out there that has a load with that powder that can do this?

to slow for that purpose and even if it did work youd be using a full case and it would be no cheaper then using the proper surplus which would probably be 844 for the purpose. Its a bit more expensive but youd be using alot less

I figured it would be too slow. Probably best for heavy bullets
