Question about Lyman bullet mold

I recentally got a Lyman bullet mold for 38/357. The blocks are numbered 358156 but they have a U after the number (lyman 358156U). Can anyone tell me what the U means?
 
Also the number 253 is written at the bottom of the blocks. What does this mean?

The "353" is the unique number to allow the mould halves that were cut together to stay together. I've heard for years that the letter "U" identifies an undersized mould, but I've had several of them and they cast perfectly normal size bullets for me.

Don't take this to the bank but the U may ID the cherrie used to cut the mould.
