encore 26" vs. 28" barrel--Any benefits?
« on: December 27, 2011, 09:16:07 AM »
i am looking at basically the identical encore barrel in 26" and 28" barrels.  Both are fluted, stainless, weather shield, the new speed breach system.  Is there an optimal length for the muzzle loader barrel?  Right now I have a 28" winchester super x muzzle loader and when I got it the guys said 28" is the best for inline muzzle loaders.

Can anyone give me any pro's or con's of the 2 barrel lengths?

Thanks.

I have the Thompson Center Encore standard blued 26" muzzleloader barrel and I wouldn't want it any longer.

I see no benefit for the extra 2".

I'd have to agree, that extra 2" just adds weight in a MZ.
