I caught a mink not to long ago that i am going to tan and keep the hide off of it and i was wondering will it be ok to just cut off the nose and leave it or do i have to go through extra steps for it to not rot and smell let me know asap thank you once again

Hopefully the mink is froze and not skun yet- it will be easier. If not do the best you can.

DO NOT cut off the nose- yo uwil lregret it! What yo uhave to do is "SKIN" our the nose and feet. THis means carefully leaving most of the cartiledge on the animal. Shave it with a sharp knife. On the feet- take your knife and carfullt slit each toe until the very end- then carefully 9again LOL) peel the toes out.

Then tan however you want.

Well its pretty much froze in the shed but it is drying out before it tan it i think im just gonna tan in as a novelty for my house so i will try that with the nose thanks
