From what's been posted so far, I think perhaps the basics need to be discussed for a minute. Forgive me if I get too basic, but our new friend does not seem to have a complete grasp of what we enjoy and take for granted.
Goex is real black powder, made of charcoal, saltpeter, and sulfer. Pyrodex is a chemical compound designed to mimic real black powder, but is made more like smokeless powder. Goex is a mixture of it's components and cannot be called a compound because the ingredients do not combine in the same manner as Pyrodex's components. Goex, and all real black powders of any brand, must be ground and screened (seperated) into various sizes. The same batch of black powder will produce 1F, 2F, 3F,4F,and 5F. The "F" stands for "fine" the number is a designator for how fine or small the granual, or kernel is. As a general rule of thumb 1F is used in cannons, 2F is used in rifles (.45 cal and over), and shotguns (as well as black powder cartridges). 3F is intended for pistols, and rifles 45 cal and under. 4F and 5F are for flintlock ignition pans, flash powder, and have no place with percussion guns. Pyrodex RS, and Select are to be used in rifles and shotguns of all calibers. Pyrodex "P" is for pistols, and small bore rifles (.32 to perhaps .50 cal)
I hope this helps, I strongly recommend your next purchase is a book that covers black powder and sporting rifles. I recommend "The complete Black Powder handbook" by Sam Fadala. The information in the book is accurate, and non-biased.
