New Scope (Bushnell)
« on: January 17, 2004, 04:51:47 PM »
:-D  Mounted a new Bushnell Elite 3200 today, on my Encore.
4x12x40. It has some really nice features.

1- Fast focus eyepeice. Really easy to use.
2-Adjustable Objective. That is really nice also. It adjust"s
from 10 YDS to Infinity.
3- RainGuard
4-Finger-Adjustable, no coins needed.

There are many other things also. so far it is really clear
and a nice looking scope in matte finish. Cant wait to shoot
it. I think it will replace my Leupold just fine.

Hi Tom,

Didn't know they had a 4 x 12, but sure was impressed by their 3200 3 x 9's. Sounds like you are happy.

So far very happy reading thru the book. I didn"t mention the
lifetime warranty, and a one year no questions asked Money
back guarantee. Pretty great warranty.

I have the 3-9 3200 with the "firefly" reticle.  Really crisp clear scope...about on par with my Leupold varx2.  The only thing is the thickness of the reticle....kind of big.  I used the glowing feature a couple of time this season...it was alright, nothing to write home about...Think I should have gotten the plain reticle.  I wish I would have known about the 4-12 that you got...would have gotten that.....Oh ya...anybody else have there 3200 fog on them...I accidently breathed on mine while trying to locate a 10 pointer at 35 yards...fogged it..and could only see out the bottom half of the scope when I shot him.  I will be more careful next time.

After focusing at magnum magnification and returning it to minimum magnification, do you have to re-focus. I'm not sure if your "Bushnell Fast Focus" is different than the regular focus model. Anyways, with the regular focus one, you must re-focus when going from one end to the other opposite sight spectrum with the 3200s.... or so I was told.

So far I haven't been able to fog my Bushnell with rainguard to the point where I couldn't use it to shoot an animal. Even taking it from 75 degree house to 20 below zero outside and breathing on it didn't manage to fog it past being functional.

am interested in the answer to your question Triple 7........don't have a Bushnell with fast diopter focus but neither Conquest I own is effected by power change when it comes to focus only distance.

Not on the Elite 3200 3 x 9 x 40s, anyway. All the ocular quick focus ring does is focus the reticle. The quick focus ring is a lot faster than than standard "spin forever" type.

Whoever told you that doesn't know what they're talking about.  The ocular is used to focus the RETICLE not the IMAGE.  That's it.  When done correctly the same user should never have to touch it again.

The only thing they COULD be talking about it the adjustable OBJECTIVE which DOES have to focus the IMAGE when adjusting magnification.
